A SOCKS proxy relays application network requests through an intermediary, which can route command-and-control communications or provide access to destinations reachable from the proxy host. The following methods are alternatives: Plink's SSH dynamic forwarding, reGeorg's local SOCKS listener over an already deployed HTTP tunnel handler, or Chisel's SOCKS5 client connected to a configured server. Choose one implementation; these are not sequential steps. Where the selected SSH server or deployed HTTP/Chisel endpoint is Internet-reachable, a client can establish the proxy without an internal foothold; requested destinations must still be reachable from the proxy host and authorized.
