An operator with authorized control of a child-domain domain controller can extract the child-to-parent trust key and forge an inter-realm Kerberos referral TGT whose PAC ExtraSids contains the forest-root Enterprise Admins SID. If the parent KDC accepts the referral, the trust boundary does not filter that SID, and the target resource authorizes it, this can extend child-domain compromise into the forest root. The forged ticket does not modify an account's sIDHistory attribute.
