Adversaries may attempt to obtain credentials saved by Chrome by accessing its credential store or browser-process data. This record's operational workflow is a controlled Windows detection simulation using an isolated Chrome profile with a synthetic credential: it covers access to the Login Data store, whose password_value fields are protected according to the active mechanism, and does not recover or validate plaintext passwords. Storage protection depends on platform, Chrome build, and policy. Windows historically used DPAPI; App-Bound Encryption adds application-identity verification for data migrated to that feature, so check the tested build and policy rather than assuming password data has migrated. macOS uses Keychain and Linux may use a system wallet; those platforms are not exercised by this Windows telemetry workflow.
