Adversaries may fingerprint virtualized or analysis environments by checking host properties and virtualization artifacts or by testing whether API behavior matches a native Windows system. Examples include querying CPU, memory, or BIOS information; looking for VM guest processes or registry artifacts; probing an API such as FlsAlloc whose behavior may differ in an incomplete emulator; and checking execution timing. These are independent checks, not a required sequence. A single artifact, API result, or timing measurement is only an indicator and does not prove that a host is virtualized.
