Adversaries may use native operating-system APIs and higher-level wrappers to perform behaviors such as process, memory, or device operations. MITRE ATT&CK T1106 spans Linux, Windows, and macOS and maps to the Execution tactic. Direct system calls are one platform-specific method that may bypass some user-mode API hooks; that does not make the behavior invisible or guarantee execution. The steps below are representative Windows examples, not a universal sequence: API resolution is optional, allocation/write/remote-thread creation form one injection path, and direct syscalls are a separate call-path choice.
