Assess whether an effective AppLocker executable allow-path rule covers a directory writable by the tested user. If both conditions hold, running a benign test executable from that path can demonstrate a policy gap. A writable ACL alone does not bypass AppLocker; the outcome depends on the effective rule collection, enforcement mode, file type, identity, and policy delivery. Microsoft specifically documents that the default Windows executable allow rule can include C:\Windows\Temp, whose Users permissions allow file creation; environments and policies may differ.
