Cobalt Strike is Fortra's licensed adversary-simulation and red-team platform. Its Java client and Linux Team Server manage Beacon sessions, payload generation, post-exploitation tasks, peer-to-peer pivoting, and customizable DNS/HTTP/HTTPS command-and-control profiles. It is dual-use software and is also tracked by MITRE ATT&CK as software S0154. Beacon also includes a built-in portscan feature for host and service discovery; it runs asynchronously between Beacon check-ins and returns results to the Beacon console.
