ForgeCert is a Windows/.NET tool that uses a CA certificate and private key supplied in a PFX/P12 file to create a user-authentication certificate signed by that CA. The tool itself performs local certificate generation; it does not submit a request to the CA. Authentication is conditional on the CA chain and trust being accepted by the domain, the target account being active, and the domain controller accepting the certificate-to-account mapping. In current Windows environments, strong certificate mapping enforcement can reject certificates that lack an acceptable strong mapping; ForgeCert's documented UPN SAN option alone does not guarantee successful domain authentication.
