FortiClient is Fortinet's endpoint client. Its remote-access VPN module establishes configured SSL VPN or IPsec tunnels to a FortiGate, with support varying by platform and release. The gateway and any EMS policy determine authentication, MFA, and endpoint-posture access; connecting with a valid password does not inherently bypass MFA.
