Invoke-Expression (alias iex) evaluates a PowerShell string as a command or expression in the current scope and returns output from the invoked command. It can execute dynamically assembled or attacker-controlled strings; it does not itself download or deobfuscate code. Microsoft recommends validating input and preferring safer direct invocation or script calls where possible.
