ProxyChains-NG (the maintained continuation of the original ProxyChains project) preloads a shared library into compatible dynamically linked programs and intercepts supported libc networking calls so their TCP connections use configured SOCKS4a, SOCKS5, or HTTP proxies. It can chain configured proxies but only handles TCP; static binaries, incompatible loaders/libc, non-libc networking, and application-specific DNS or socket stacks may bypass or fail, so verify actual egress for each client.
