Responder poisons LLMNR, NBT-NS and mDNS name resolution and provides rogue authentication services for protocols including HTTP, SMB, MSSQL, FTP, LDAP, Kerberos and DNS. Its DHCP and DHCPv6 modes can supply attacker-controlled network or DNS settings. It captures authentication material from clients that connect; whether the result is a challenge-response hash or cleartext credential depends on the protocol, configuration and client behavior.
