Microsoft Visual Studio is a Windows integrated development environment (IDE). It uses the separately runnable MSBuild engine to load and build project files. In authorized red-team testing, crafted Visual Studio projects or build logic can cause code to run when a project is opened or built; MSBuild tasks, including inline tasks, can execute code during builds. Review project files and imported build logic before opening or building them.
