Docker is an open-source container platform whose CLI creates and controls containers through a Docker Engine daemon. The reviewed examples target Linux Docker Engine: a writable bind mount can expose the daemon host filesystem inside a container, and host-network mode shares the daemon host's network namespace. Control of a rootful daemon is root-equivalent on its host; rootless mode and user-namespace remapping change the host access these operations provide. This entry describes the Docker CLI/Engine, not a command-and-control framework.
