pg_dump is PostgreSQL's client utility for exporting one PostgreSQL database to a plain SQL script or archive. Custom-format archives can be selectively inspected and restored with pg_restore. It exports a single database, not cluster-wide roles or tablespaces; it can be misused to collect accessible database contents, but its execution alone is not evidence of malicious activity.
