Impacket's smbserver.py starts a user-mode SMB server and exports a local directory as a named share. It can bind to a selected address and TCP port, configure client authentication with a username and password or username and NTLM hashes, restrict the share to read-only access, and enable experimental SMB2 support. If -username is omitted, anonymous client connections are allowed. If a username is supplied without -password or -hashes, the script prompts for the password using hidden input. SMB2 support is marked experimental in Impacket 0.13.1.
