The Go and ODBC variants run on Windows, macOS, Linux, and in containers, with supported options and behavior differing by variant and release. For SQL Server Authentication, -U without -P prompts unless SQLCMDPASSWORD is set; Microsoft warns that supplying passwords with -P is insecure.
