A command-line client for querying WHOIS registration data about domain names and Internet number resources. Returned fields vary by registry, and registrant contact details may be redacted. For generic top-level domains, RDAP became the definitive registration-data source on 28 January 2025; most gTLD registries and registrars are no longer required to provide WHOIS.
